FOUR ESSENTIAL FINDINGS NEED TO BE INFORMED IN A CT SCAN REPORT OF ACUTE PANCREATITIS



A detailed report should be given in Acute Pancreatitis and can be time intensive. 

In this blog we will only discuss the  four  key findings that a referring physician is looking for, which help decide the management. 

 1. Pancreatic gland (bulky , necrosis , calcification, ductal changes, calcification & mass lesion. 

2. Extent of the peri-pancreatic inflammation, fluid collections & peripancreatic fat necrosis: Mesentery / transverse mesocolon / paracolic gutters / bowel etc

3. Vascular complications: Arterial pseudo aneurysm / venous thrombosis

4. Status of hepato-biliary region: Fatty liver / bile duct dilatation / GB-CBD cal)
