ACCURACY OF SPEECH TO TEXT & YOUR EMOTIONAL STATE!

FACTORS THAT AFFECT ACCURACY OF YOUR  RADIOLOGY DICTATION

          (SPEECH TO TEXT)

Ever noticed, your speech to text accuracy varies in the day.

When in urgent reporting or when the TAT is closing on you....the accuracy drops.

Well, that's your EMOTIONAL state which is reflecting in your voice and delivery of the dialogue!

Your "speech -to text" is used to your training done during a calm setting, where you took care with proper pronunciation of the words and efficient dialogue deliver.

As of now the current machines do not have the emotional intelligence to adapt to our varying tone and dialogue deliver.

Way to improve your dictation accuracy:

1. It is important to note, certain words you may have to stress on certain sounds like "t" "d"  "hyPo"

2. Rhoticity helps. Pronouncing "R" also improves accuracy, like - "hyPeR

3. When you do the initial training, do it in the way you would do later in your routine

4. Speak the complete sentence, including punctuation's. Avoid pause or sounds like "ah". Continuous delivery without interruption is the best way.

5. Before or after a command take very short pause, before starting the dictation

6. Quite background

7. High quality noise cancellation microphone

8. Keep a note of errors and try corrections. AI learns from your error corrections

9. Be reasonably loud

10. When in a changed emotional state, try to calm down by simply focusing on your breathing ( may be 3 breath in and out). Below is a link with 2  minutes read, how to calm yourself.
