MRI PROSTATE- DON'T FRET ON PIRADS 3!

FOCUS ON SOMETHING THAT IS NOT GREY

Pic from www.pexels.com (&modified)

PI-RADS scoring for prostate MRI has become very poplar among the radiologist as well as urologist. It is common thing, the urologist calls and asks only for the PI RADS Score in biopsy naive patients.

Even after completing the learning curve, PI-RADS 3 is a grey zone and the trouble maker for the inexperienced and the experienced.

This is specifically a BIG issue among the Radiology Residents.

My message for the residents:

It is more important not to miss PIRADS 4 and 5 lesions and focus on the same. What is grey for you will probably be for many!

Over the time, I am sure there will be improvement with new versions.
