Thinking process during radiology reporting:
1.
Get
the complete history and think about the clinical diagnosis.
2.
Think
about the expected radiological findings.
3.
What
is the possible management of the clinical problem?
4.
What
would the clinical colleague need to know before medical or surgical treatment?
5.
Is the
imaging finding going to change the management? If yes it needs to be
communicated immediately.
6.
While
writing the report the language should be clear so that not only a specialist,
but a general practitioner or a trainee physician should be also able to
understand it.
7. Too much of description can sometimes take the focus of the main issue.
8. Summarize in your impression without being descriptive
9. When you write something significant, think of the action that will be taken and reconfirm with yourself before giving that significant finding or seek help from a colleague.
